Melvin Brooks III

I share the same birthday as my paternal grandmother; that special day is February 28, 1997.  It has not always been easy for me but I thank God every day for the people who have come into my life. You know, it takes a village to raise a child.  I feel blessed because as I am looking around, surprisingly I see that the village for me has increased.  With this continued support, I am without a doubt on my way to becoming a productive citizen.

My only request is that you continue to embrace me as I step boldly into the next phase of my life.

To my parents, I want to thank you for all that you have done.  Through the good times and bad times we stayed together and that is what a team is supposed to do.

The seed that endures the most mud and rain turns out to be the most beautiful rose. Mom, you are my rose.  Dad, when we give of ourselves, nothing is truly lost.  Thank you for all of the sacrifices.
